ABOUT CWTCH CEREMONIES

Hi, I’m Becca, A.K.A. your ‘must-have’ wedding sidekick!
Who doesn’t love a good love story?
Based in the beautiful market town of Abergavenny (willing to travel), I’m here to help you craft the perfect wedding ceremony.
You’ve done the proposal thing ... now it’s time for the wedding thing!
I offer bespoke ceremonies, ensuring your day is truly, your day. My goal is to tell your love story with warmth, authenticity, and a touch of fun. I love creating ceremonies that not only capture the heart of your journey but also bring laughter and joy to your big day. Whether you want something romantic, lighthearted, or a perfect mix of both, I’m here, to create a ceremony that feels completely ‘you’.
A Cwtch Ceremonies Wedding
Standard Package
A standard package with Cwtch Ceremonies includes:
Initial Meeting – A chance for you to share your love story - how you met, key milestones, and your plans for the big day. We’ll also discuss music, readings, rituals, and, of course, the all-important vows. In person is preferred, if that's not possible, a video call.
Couples Questionnaire – This helps me understand more about you as individuals and as a couple - what makes your love story special, your quirks, and what makes you you.
Family & Friends Questionnaire – Sometimes our loved ones see things we don’t! Their insights can help shape a unique and personal ceremony.
Draft Ceremony Script – I will share this with you for review and any necessary changes.
Final Ceremony Script – This will be provided in advance so you can feel fully prepared.
The Big Day – I will arrive at least an hour before the ceremony to check in with you (if you’re available), liaise with key people (photographers, videographers, wedding coordinators), and ensure everything is running smoothly. Then, I’ll lead your beautiful ceremony and announce you as newlyweds!
Something Extra?
Vow Writing
Rehearsal
Commemorative Certificate
Whether you need proofreading or a little more help crafting your vows, I can assist with Proofreading & Editing or
Writing Bespoke Vows.
If you’d like a run-through before the big day, I offer rehearsals at a mutually convenient time.
A printed keepsake for you to sign on the day. Some people want one, some people ain't fussed - it is a good photo opp though, just saying.
The Wedding Singer
As a trained singer, I can perform during your ceremony (e.g., processional, recessional, or signing of certificates). Song requests welcome with advance notice. I've also been known to rewrite a few lyrics if you wanted to include a personalised favourite song!
The MC
Need someone to keep guests in place for photos, speeches, and toasts? Or, someone to psych your guests up for a rip roaring welcome to your wedding breakfast? I can help with that!
Rituals
You can include a wedding ritual if you want, (or don't).
Some popular rituals are:
Handfasting
Ring Warming (now, now!)
Unity Candle
Quaich / Wedding Cocktail
Sand Blending
Or make up your own unique ritual!
About Me.
Hi again! So, my name is Becca and I live in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire - Wales, with my lovely Mr Cwtch and 'The Woofer'.
I've always had a passion for the Performing Arts, singing and being a drama queen from a young age. I love it so much, I have a degree in it! When I'm not in 'the day job', writing or delivering ceremonies, you might catch me treading the boards with local amateur theatre companies, (musicals are my jam).
I've worked in education for 16 years, with the majority of my career focussing on supporting young people with learning disabilities, which I absolutely adore!
I ventured into being an Independent Celebrant after being asked by some very lovely friends, to write and deliver their ceremony. I really enjoyed the whole process, and it puts the teacher voice and stage presence to good use, so here we are!
Also, I'm double jointed, I can show you the weird elbow thing if you ask nicely.
Becca
These are a few of my favourite things...

Greg. That is all.

Schitt's Creek is, in my opinion, the best show, ever. I will fight you on this!

I have a VERY eclectic taste in music, but ELO is always a vibe.

Cooking, baking ... feeding people.

“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing–absolutely nothing–half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” Ratty - Wind in the Willows
Things I don't like ...

Making eggnog so potent it almost ruins Christmas ... Oops!

FAQ's
What is a Celebrant?
Someone who gets to know you as a couple and who crafts and delivers a bespoke ceremony script based on your preferences and quirks.
How much will you charge me?
My starting cost for a standard package is £550, however, be sure to check in as I may have a cheeky offer from time to time.
Travel is included within a 45 minute drive, anything beyond that is charged at 45p per mile.
I have additional services available, see my 'A Cwtch Ceremonies Wedding' section, which are charged at varying costs depending on what takes your fancy.
What's included?

Is it a legally binding ceremony?
No. Is the short answer. There are some things going on behind the scenes, however, as it stands, in Wales and England, a Celebrant led wedding is not legally binding.
Many couples who choose a Celebrant led wedding opt to have their marriage in a registry office with very close family and friends (or witnesses) to get the legal bit done, then have their personalised Celebrant ceremony at a later date.
Where can we have our ceremony?
Anywhere really! Isn't that cool?! (I'd probably have to decline something up a mountain though, unless there's like a train or something to the top).
What areas do you cover?
I'm based in Monmouthshire, so quite handy for South Wales, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. Having said that, I'm more than happy to travel further afield.
What about vows?
We like them! You're free to choose or write your own vows if you'd like. Or, if the latter sounds scary, I can help you out. I really enjoy pulling out little nuggets from our initial meeting and your questionnaires to craft your vows for you too!
Can we include religious elements?
Yes, to a point. Songs, prayers, and readings by you or your guests are absolutely welcome. While I’m not a religious person and can’t perform formal religious rituals myself, I fully recognise how important faith can be in a wedding ceremony. I’m more than happy to include symbolic or spiritual elements that everyone is comfortable with, and to help create a ceremony that respects and reflects your beliefs.
How do we book?
It's best to send me an enquiry initially, (through the enquiry form - it's right at the bottom, facebook, Instagram, email or Whatsapp), to check my availability for your wedding date.
I'll suggest some times for us to have an initial meeting where I get to know about you, how you met and your journey. We'll also talk about what you want for your wedding.
Once we've had the meeting and we're all happy we're a good match, you can secure your date. We'll talk through terms and conditions before you sign on the line.
What do you wear?
The answer to this question relies on your input. I usually ask for your opinion. You won't find me in typical 'registrar attire', I prefer a pop of colour. However, I know that aesthetics are very important for those photographs, so I'll be led by you. If you'd like me to match your colour scheme, I'll do my best!
