J & D, my first wedding experience for strangers, turned out to be a delight! Initially, names in my diary, but during our very first video call, I sensed an immediate chemistry. They were enthusiastic yet nervous, (as was I), a mix that comes hand in hand with the planning of a big life event. They shared their vision for the day and a few endearing stories that reflected their personalities.
They spoke about their love story, their anecdotes filled with laughter and affection. I couldn't help but smile along with them as they reminisced about their journey together.
By the end of our initial call, they had decided, (without words to agree), to secure their date right then and there, and I was super excited to get started on crafting their ceremony.
J & D wanted a more traditional style ceremony, with just a touch of humour, and that's exactly what they got! Their ceremony was carefully designed to reflect their unique personalities while honouring the more traditional 'order of service'. From the outset, they were clear that they wanted a celebration that would reflect their deep-rooted family values and also touch in the humorous to keep their guests engaged and entertained.
J & D shared vows which I had created from what they had told me in the initial video call and from their couple's questionnaire. They then chose to exchange rings as a symbol of their commitment to each other. Their wedding represented not only the merging of their lives but also the blending of their families, creating a new foundation built on love.
