J & V's was my first wedding as a Celebrant, before I was a Celebrant. I've known J & V for many years through work, and although that brought us together as colleagues, I think it was the shared sense of goofy humour that made us friends. We've travelled together, shared break ups together, and at one point, I was even their boss!
J & V chose to get legally married with their very nearest and dearest to witness, however, knew that they wanted their wedding day to be something special that was bespoke to them and meant they were able to incorporate a personalised recount of their journey together with a touch of humour. I was truly honoured when they presented me with a bottle of wine labelled 'Officiant' and asked that I create and lead their ceremony for them.
Knowing them well gave me the best foot forward, however, there were a few sneaky texts back and forth to check on the some of the finer details. I crafted their ceremony and vows with love and care, sending their vows to them separately for sign off.
On the day, I delivered their ceremony in front of their family and friends, dabbing one of the brides happy tears as I went. The ceremony was filled with laughter and tenderness and I was so appreciative of the positive feedback afterwards to confirm that I had done them proud.
A little time went by after their ceremony and I realised, I missed it. All of the ideas popping into my head for the script and the re-drafting, and seeing the smiling faces of them and their guests. So, I decided to embark on a side quest, and thus, Cwtch Ceremonies was born.
Thank you J & V for putting your trust in me, and for opening up this whole new world of being a Wedding Celebrant.
